HOW TO GET RID OF BLACKHEADS AT HOME
Hey lovelies,
As we all fight with blackhead problems, its essential for us to understand what exactly are they ??
Blackheads occur when your pores become clogged with excess sebum (an oil created by the sebaceous glands that keeps skin supple) and dead skin cells. The difference between a black head and a white head is simply whether or not the pore is open or closed. If the pore is open, the plug of sebum/skin cells oxidizes as it is in contact with the oxygen in the air, which turns it black. Blackheads are not caused by dirt. Let’s make that clear from the beginning. Scrubbing your face obsessively is not a good way to get rid of your blackheads, and is only going to make it worse as you’ll just end up drying out your skin, which will cause more oil to be created to make up for everything you stripped away, and…well it’s a vicious cycle. For this reason, don’t use some of these remedies more than 2-3 times a week, such as the sugar scrub and pore strips. I know it can be hard to resist, but your skin will be better off this way.
Sugar and Olive Oil
Take a tsp of sugar and mix it with few drops of olive oil. Apply it on the face, specially to the areas affected by blackheads. With the help of a soft toothbrush, gently rub the scrub for 5-10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Repeat this treatment twice a week for best results. Remember not to rub the skin vigorously with the toothbrush.
Gelatin Powder and Milk
Combine 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin powder and one & half tbsp of milk in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Take it out and let it reach room temperature. Coat the affected area with this blackhead removing mask and leave it on for 20 minutes or so until it dries completely. Pull the mask off. As the gelatin comes off the face, it will pull out the dirt and impurities from the face and prevent blackheads.
Baking Soda and Honey
Mix together 2 tbsp of baking soda and 1 tbsp of honey and prepare a thick paste. Apply it on the areas of the face affected by blackheads. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then remove it by gently scrubbing the skin. This homemade mask is a great natural remedy to remove blackheads easily. Baking soda is known for its excellent cleansing and exfoliating properties while, honey is a rich source of anti-oxidants that helps to keep the skin healthy and young.
Lemon Juice and Egg White
Take 1 egg white in a bowl and whisk until it becomes soft and smooth. Add in 1 tsp of fresh lemon juice. Wash your face with warm water to get rid of the dirt and open the pores. Apply this mask on the blackhead affected areas and wait for 15-20 minutes. Peel it and wash the face with cold water. This is a great DIY mask to fight against blackheads. Lemon juice has anti-bacterial properties. It helps to shrink pores, get rid of pimples and brighten the complexion. Egg white keeps skin firm and enhances the complexion.
Clay Powder and Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix a tsp of clay powder with some apple cider vinegar and apply this mask on those areas of the face affected by blackheads. Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash the face with lukewarm water. This mixture of clay powder and apple cider vinegar, when used regularly, can do wonders for our skin. It not only rids the skin of blackheads, but unclog the pores effectively and prevents the occurrence of blackheads.
Baking Soda & Water
A little baking soda goes a long way for blackheads, but don’t overdo it, as it can seriously dry out your skin thanks to its saltiness. While pH may or may not have a role to play in blackheads, the biggest reason baking soda helps is because of it’s small, fine, granules that can work as a natural and inexpensive way to occasionally exfoliate and remove anything clogging your pores (and therefore causing blackheads.)
Mix water with enough baking soda to form a thick, but spreadable, paste. Using a gentle circular motion, massage the paste into your skin. Rinse thoroughly with plain water, pat your face dry, and then make sure you moisturize.
Apple Cider Vinegar & Mint Toner
Combine vinegar and mint in a small bottle and let it sit for 1 week in cool dark place. Strain, add a cup of water, and store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days. Use nightly, rinsing your face first with water and then using clean cotton balls to apply the toner. Leave on overnight or up to several hours (if you have sensitive skin) and rinse off in the morning. Follow up with a moisturizer.
So these were few easy and effective remedies. I hope it helps you.
